Frequently Asked Questions

I installed version 9 and now I do not have any of my Bibles and other resources!

As per the installation instructions, you'll need to redownload all previously installed modules as the old ones are not compatible with the new version. You can redownload purchased modules using the original information you were given when previously purchased.

Where is the Bible book navigation tree in version 9?

Press the F2 key to display the new Lookup Scripture Reference dialog next to the mouse pointer wherever it is located, or access it from the main toolbar with the button next to the "Lookup" combobox.

I purchased a premium add-on module and see that it has been updated. How can I get the update?

All premium modules that have been purchased can be redownloaded as needed. Contact us on the Feedback web page with the name of the module in question for specific instructions.

I cannot download any files.

Do not use the MSN browser as it is unable to navigate the web site properly. Disable any download manager you might be using and see if that helps. Sometimes a firewall prevents the downloading of files.

I downloaded some add-on modules, but I cannot find them in e-Sword.

All of the files you download are EXE files that need to be "run" on your PC to extract their contents. Restart e-Sword to see the new additions.

Additionally, the resources on the Extras web page have been created as Topic Notes and as such won't have their own "tab". They can be accessed through the Topic Notes editor. Open the resources by selecting the appropriate entry in the resources combobox at the *bottom* of the editor area.

I installed e-Sword and only have the KJV+ and Strong's. Where do I get more Bibles and other resources?

There are links at the top part of the Downloads web page whereby you can download different resource types. If you are unable to find these links or otherwise cannot figure it out, select "Help, e-Sword On The Web" from the e-Sword menu and choose the download type you want.

I installed the latest update and now the Strong's # ToolTips no longer work on some modules.

All of the Strong's based resources were updated to work with the latest release, so you will want to download and install them as well. These will have dates starting 01-02-08 as listed on the Recent Updates web page.

How do I delete a module I installed?

You can delete a resource by selecting "Options, Resource" from the e-Sword menu. Right-click over the resource you want to remove, then choose the "Delete" popup menu item. Confirm, and it is gone.

"Help" doesn't work in Vista.

Do you have a version of e-Sword for MAC?

I won't be developing a version of e-Sword specifically for MAC, but I have created an online interactive version: "e-Sword LIVE". Just visit the following URL and register to get access to all features: http://live.e-sword.net
